November 22 to 29, 2007 - Cartagena, Colombia
Participation of the CED in the XVII General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

October 18, 2007 - Montreal, Quebec, Canada
The CED co-signs, with Tourism Montreal and Héritage Montréal, the National Geographic Society's Geotourism Charter, making Montréal the first urban destination to adhere to this charter.

October 16, 2007 - Madrid, Spain
Meeting at UNWTO's Headquarters presided by UNWTO Secretary General, Mr. Francesco Frangialli, bringing together representatives of six of the UNWTO member states that demonstrated their interest in contributing to the development of the CED: Saudi Arabia, China, France, Spain, Mexico, and Monaco.

October 1 to 3, 2007 - Davos, Switzerland
Mr. André Vallerand, President of the CED, participates in the second International conference on climate change and tourism. His presentation entitled “Blue Gold” discusses on water-related problems and their impact on tourist destinations.

Signature of the Memorandum of Agreement between George Washington University and the CED.

The task force of international experts to establish a System for Measuring Excellence in Destinations (SMED) begins its work.

June 13, 2007 - Hammamet, Tunisia
Signature of the Memorandum of Agreement between the UNWTO and the CED.

May 24, 2007 - Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Signature of the Memorandum of Agreement between the National Geographic Society and the CED.

February 19, 2007 - Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Press conference for the launch of the CED held at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.
